Talks between the European Union and Turkey on the sidelines of the United Nations meetings

Europe and the Arabs – Brussels European Union Foreign Policy Coordinator Josep Borrell met with Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and Borrell said in a tweet to him on Twitter,

“It is good to meet Minister Oglu, where they discussed relations between the European Union and Turkey, the Cyprus file, the situation in the eastern Mediterranean and Afghanistan, adding that coordination and close cooperation between the two sides is pivotal in these and other files.”

The relations between the two sides had witnessed a period of tension against the background of the Cyprus file and the eastern Mediterranean, as well as European criticism of the human rights file in Turkey, and Brussels imposed sanctions in this regard, but Ankara and Brussels agreed on the importance of continuing dialogue in light of common interests and cooperation in several areas, including the issue of migration and asylum. and others
