Belgium: Rebooking premium’ for the event sector

Europe and arabe- Companies in the event sector that have incurred major costs to rebook activities due to the corona crisis can apply for a rebooking premium from the Flemish government. At the suggestion of the Flemish Minister of Economy Hilde Crevits, the Flemish government has given the green light for this premium. A total of EUR 10 million has been earmarked for the measure.

Due to the many cancellations and relocations of events, companies had to make rebookings and maintain contact with customers. However, these rebooking costs were not offset by new income. In order to support companies that were intrinsically healthy, the Flemish government wants to compensate these rebooking costs with a premium. The aid measure is notified to the European Commission.
