Europe and arabe- In the course of this week, more than 781,552 inhabitants of Flanders will receive a vaccine against the corona virus. That is 165,000 more than previously announced, thanks to a delivery from J&J and a number of doses from Brussels. About a third of that is a first shot, the rest are second doses. In the rest of the month, the first doses virtually stop. In the week of July 11, for example, only 6,051 are planned, while more than 330,000 second doses will be injected.
The ambition is to have at least 80 percent of adult Flemings fully vaccinated by the end of July. Already just under 68 percent of the total population received a first shot. According to Flemish Minister of Health Wouter Beke (CD&V), 99.4 percent of the Flemish adult population has meanwhile received at least one invitation.
